The President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev awarded the winner in the 1st slalom of the Europa Cup in Pamporovo Henrik Kristoffersen from Norway. The 2nd Naoki Yuasa was awarded by Bulgaria’s Sports Minister Svilen Neykov and the bronze medalist Frederik Place (FRA) by the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traycho Traykov.
„My presence here in Pamporovo is to express my full support for the development of the ski sport and tourism in the region” said the president Plevneliev after the price giving ceremony. “Despite the economic crisis the tourist industry develops in an impressive way worldwide. Today we proved that Bulgaria is an attractive European destination. Bulgaria is power, but we are yet to develop our potential” added the President.
He noted that for the race in Pamporovo arrived 30 of the top 100 skiers in the world who were welcomed by a perfect organizing, a lot of nos and Rhodopian hospitality. „I would only like to thank our organizers, the institutions, the ministers, the mayors and everyone else who helped Bulgaria to put Bulgaria back on the world sports map”, added the President.
